Fairfield Harbour Supports Local Businesses

February 13, 2018

And we do mean local, in fact, right in Fairfield Harbour there is a mini Chamber of Commerce where community businesses support each other. It’s called CBCFH – Cooperative Business Council of Fairfield Harbour.

Many retirees long to start that dream career. CBC is the perfect place to launch a business with neighborly support.

The mission of the CBC is to be an advocate for and to encourage cooperative and mutual support of businesses providing goods and services to the Fairfield Harbour and Broad Creek Corridor communities. Multi-partner initiatives and events will be encouraged and supported.

CBC strives to promote and recommend fellow members first when the opportunity arises. Business integrity is foremost among CBC members. Prospective CBC members complete an application process that includes sponsorship from two current CBC members and one business reference. With these requirements, CBC members can be comfortable recommending other members to their own clients for potential jobs.

CBC sponsors several events during the year such as the CBC Golf Tournament where last year $1000 was donated to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. Other events include the annual Fairfield Harbour Parade and a Health and Wellness Expo. The next CBC event is the Spring Showcase, scheduled for April 22, 3-5PM where CBC members showcase their businesses. The event is open to Fairfield residents and New Bern guests. In years past, CBC added excitement to the event with live music and the Car Clubs of Fairfield demonstrated their cars – antique and sports cars alike.
