Every month is a busy month for FHYC and September was no different.
The Yacht Club Education Committee presented a First Aid Response program on September 9. The class focused on nautical medical needs. The Education Committee set up a series of different scenarios for emergencies on board a boat and explained how to handle the emergency.
Racing is one of the Yacht Club most enjoyable activities. The first of the Fall Series of Sunfish and Dingy Races started Sept. 11 and 18.
Cruising is always a popular event in the Yacht Club. Cruisers visited Bald Head Island September 11-18. The Ocracoke Cruise was held on September 22-27. A trip to Washington, NC is planned for October 21. These trips are a beautiful way to enjoy boating and see the spectacular North Carolina inner banks with close friends.
Socializing is a great way for Yacht Club members to visit with each other. The monthly Yacht Club dinner was held at a new restaurant in RiverBend – Waters Edge. Impromptu happy hours are held at Fairfield Harbour’s Sunset Grill every month.
The Multiple Sclerosis Bike Ride annual fundraiser found the Yacht Club members volunteering with the Cape Lookout Sail and Power Squadron to help with rest stops and lunch stops on September 10 and 11.
The Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club offers numerous opportunities for new and experienced boaters to enjoy the pleasures of the oceans and rivers in our area.
